The active: a rye-derived firming biopolymer

Clinically dosed — the level the results were measured at

A biomimetic active derived from rye (Secale cereale seed extract). It transposes to the skin the arabinoxylans responsible for rye’s mechanical strength and cohesion, stimulating the skin’s response to mechano-stress — the gravitational load that, over years, pulls the face downwards.

Lipofill carries it at the level at which the tone and tension results below were measured — not a token trace added so the ingredient can appear on the label.

+16%skin tension (p < 0.05)

Study conditions

Active Rye-derived arabinoxylan biopolymer — INCI: Secale cereale seed extract
Dose Clinically dosed — at the level used in the supplier’s study
Regimen Twice-daily application, placebo-controlled
Duration 28 days (elasticity, tone) · 56 days (wrinkle surface area)
Elasticity +12.6% improvement in the skin’s ability to return to its initial state vs placebo, 28 days

Also in the formula

A keratin-binding hydration active (saccharide isomerate), clinically dosed at the level its hydration data was generated at. It binds to keratin in the stratum corneum rather than sitting on the surface, so it resists washing off; supplier studies report hydration sustained for up to 72 hours.

An oat-derived polyose biopolymer that forms a film on the skin surface for an immediate tensor effect. We are not quoting a figure for it: the supplier’s recommended use level has not yet been confirmed to us in writing, so we cannot state that it is dose-matched.

Squalane, vitamin E and a stearate emulsion base carry the actives and support the barrier.

What we do not claim

This formula also contains two lip-volumising complexes, both carried above their supplier-studied levels. Their published clinical data measures lip volume, lip furrows and lip moisture — not facial firmness. We do not cite those figures here, because the studies did not test the area this product is sold for. Where an active’s evidence does not match the indication, we leave it out.
